Coworker is a small yet excellent shop specializing in handcrafted leather goods. Situated in Rokugo, renowned as the town of “hanko” seals, the shop appropriately bears the name Coworker. Interestingly, the pronunciation is a fusion of “cow” and “worker,” a clever term coined by the owner, Aya.

In 2021, Aya skillfully converted an old laundry shop into her beautifully renovated leather shop.

Aya, a skilled leather craftswoman, single-handedly manages this shop with the vigilant watchdog, Emily, ensuring solid protection!

When your long-cherished leather goods break, when you no longer feel like wearing a leather jacket you purchased years ago, or when you find in the cabinet a leather bag untouched for years, who are you gonna call?

“Coworker!””Coworker!”

Visit Aya’s shop, where she can breathe new life into your old leather goods.

Wallets, smartphone cases, key cases, bags… We use various leather goods. It is important to cherish them as they were once the protection for living animals.

Aya is guided by this tender emotion in her entirely handmade work. Stitch by stitch, every piece is crafted infused with dedication. Everything she makes is original and can be customized in form. Although it may take time, it is like a precious moment while you wait for the birth of a baby.

One of her significant projects is “Randoseru Project”. Do you know what “randoseru” is? Originally a Dutch word, “ransel”, it was Japanized into “randoseru”, referring to a leather satchel that kids carry on their backs when they go to primary school.

In the Japanese school system, students are required to attend primary school for six years, during which they use a “randoseru”. However, this practice ceases once they move on to middle school, where they use a different satchel, and the “randoseru” becomes obsolete.

However, by the hands of Aya, it transforms into a small bag or leather accessories that can be used for a lifetime!

“Make something using this leather!”

This is the first thing you will say at Coworker. Aya is a skilled leather craftswoman who doesn’t say no. So, make sure to have a detailed discussion about your preferences. At her shop, needless to say, you will find a variety of leather goods, just like in other shops!
